DC Studios just dropped a Superman sneak peek at CinemaCon, and it’s another promising sign that James Gunn’s vision for the Man of Steel is on the right track. The weight of an entire cinematic universe is on this film’s shoulders, but if the first trailer released last December had fans excited, this latest footage only solidifies the hype.
One thing is for sure—Krypto continues to steal the show. Inspired by Gunn’s own dog, Ozu, this live-action version of Superman’s canine companion is pure joy on screen. As a dog owner, I couldn’t help but grin at the moment where Krypto excitedly jumps on Superman, completely oblivious to the fact that his best friend is in pain. Any dog owner knows that feeling all too well.
But Krypto isn’t the only scene-stealer. The sneak peek finally gives us a better look at the Superman robots, a classic element from the Silver Age comics that only had a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo in the first trailer. The standout among them? Robot 4, unmistakably voiced by Alan Tudyk. Given his history with Gunn and his experience voicing androids (most notably in I, Robot), Tudyk fits right in. There’s also a female-voiced Robot 12, but her voice remains a mystery for now—though it’s only a matter of time before the internet figures it out.
What makes this sneak peek even more special is how much it embraces that Silver Age comic book feel. The colors, the tone, even the way the characters interact—it’s got that perfect balance of heart, humor, and heroics that defined classic Superman stories.
With Superman hitting theaters and IMAX nationwide on July 11, 2025 (and internationally starting July 9), Warner Bros. is betting big on this film. If this sneak peek is anything to go by, they might just have a winner on their hands.
