As a longtime fan of the Man of Steel, I can’t express how thrilled I am about the upcoming DC movie “Superman: Legacy.” The anticipation has been palpable, and the latest set photos have only fueled the excitement. The photos give us our first glimpse of David Corenswet in his full Superman costume and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and they look nothing short of spectacular.

Behind the Scenes in Cleveland
The latest images from the set, captured on June 24 in Cleveland, Ohio, showcase a dramatic crash scene. Rachel Brosnahan, the Emmy-winning actress known for her role in “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” was spotted in costume as the iconic Lois Lane. Alongside her, David Corenswet donned the classic Superman suit, embodying the superhero’s strength and grace as he assisted the armed forces amid the chaos of a crash.
The crash scene, reportedly involving an airplane or another flying object, adds an intense element to the film, highlighting the dangers Superman often faces to protect humanity. Also seen on set was Wendell Pierce, portraying Perry White, the editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet. Both Lois Lane and Perry White were filmed emerging from the wreckage, adding to the high stakes of the scene.
The Superman Suit: A Fresh Take
For me, the reveal of Corenswet’s Superman suit is a breath of fresh air. The design strikes a perfect balance between classic elements and modern aesthetics. The iconic red trunks are present, a nod to Superman’s traditional look, yet the suit’s overall design feels updated and fresh. It’s a perfect blend of nostalgia and innovation, a balance I hope will be mirrored in the film’s storytelling.

A Glimpse of Mister Terrific
But the surprises didn’t end there. Cleveland.com shared additional photos, introducing another superhero to the mix: Mister Terrific, played by Edi Gathegi. Known in the comics for his intelligence and gadgetry, Mister Terrific’s appearance in “Superman: Legacy” is a testament to director James Gunn’s knack for bringing lesser-known heroes to the forefront, much like he did with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Gathegi was seen in a stylish motorcycle jacket and mask, perfectly capturing Mister Terrific’s cool and calculated persona. The inclusion of Mister Terrific hints at a broader narrative, possibly introducing elements of the Justice Society of America into the DC Universe.
Director James Gunn’s Vision
James Gunn has been actively engaging with fans on social media, sharing updates and debunking rumors about the production. His vision for “Superman: Legacy” seems to aim at relaunching the DC Universe with a fresh perspective while staying true to the essence of these beloved characters.

The film, set to release on July 11, 2025, has already begun to stir conversations among fans, especially with the detailed construction of the Daily Planet office and the classic yet refreshed Superman suit. Gunn’s commitment to honoring the legacy of Superman while introducing new elements promises an exciting future for the DCU.
The Future of Superman on Screen
In recent years, we’ve seen various interpretations of Superman, from Brandon Routh’s “Kingdom Come” version to Tyler Hoechlin’s portrayal in “Superman & Lois.” Each iteration has brought something unique to the table, but Corenswet’s new suit and the dynamic cast of “Superman: Legacy” feel like a particularly promising step forward.

As we eagerly await more details and official trailers, these set photos have certainly set the stage for what could be one of the most exciting Superman films to date. The balance of classic and contemporary elements in the suit design, coupled with a strong supporting cast and Gunn’s visionary direction, makes “Superman: Legacy” a film to watch.
